isolation after dissolution
integrity and an intrinsic knowledge of craft
My hands are never idle. Eight years ago I worked with a mentor and master Italian stone artigiano on a project for a new photo studio. It was one of the most rewarding experiences in my life. Arvin DeMarco has something we seldom see today - integrity. We came up with a special recipe in which dark chips are complimented in a grey matrix with smaller recycled glass accents. The design was inspired by an install I was honored to be a part of for the Isamu Noguchi Sculpture Court at The Nelson Art Museum in Kansas City. I spent nine weeks wet grinding the rest of the 2000 sq ft of concrete alone. I dissolved the studio in April of this last year -ten years to the month.
I trust its new occupants may look down at their feet at appreciate what we humbly love to do.
